55th Annual Golden Gate PCA Holiday Banquet

This past Saturday, January 9, 2016, we had the opportunity to attend the 55th Annual Holiday Banquet of Porsche Club of America's Golden Gate Region at Canepa in Scotts Valley, CA.

This was my first time at Canepa and I was completely amazed and inspired. The showroom, museum, and the shop was immaculate. Now I understand when our customers say our shop is the 2nd cleanest shop they've seen. I'd like to throw in there that Bruce Canepa started out in Santa Cruz with Bruce Canepa Motorcars 31 years ago and then opened up this Scotts Valley location 10 years ago. So we still have a long way to go to get on this level.

The Showroom

When we first walked into Canepa, we were greeted by these beautiful collector cars that were for sale.

The Museum

Upstairs was the Canepa Motosports Museum.

On display are a broad spectrum of racecars and motorcycles from the golden age of motorsport to modern times. The museum showcases examples from multiple disciplines with everything from Can-Am to NASCAR, Indy to Le Mans.

The Shop

Okay, we finally got to the shop. It's unbelievable to imagine that they actually WORK on cars here. It looks exactly like the museum or the showroom....but with tools and parts all around.

The Lunch & Awards Program

We had an amazing BBQ lunch right next to Canepa's 4x4 car collection in the shop. There was a buffet full of barbecued meats and salads. They were also kind to consider people like me by offering veggie burgers! The awards ceremony was fun. People won great prizes, including polo shirts personalized with their names and a Porsche teddy bear.

We had a great time!
