Canadian Rockies Trip
Flew to Vancouver Airport and stayed at my cousin's apartment for 3 nights. Lots of places to eat and go to.
Went to Deep Cove and hiked to top of Quarry Rock.
Ate at delicious vegan restaurants.
1a) Lunch at Gray Monk Estate Winery
First day of road trip, we drove a couple hours and stopped at Gray Monk Estate Winery for lunch. The patio overlooks the winery and the huge Okanagan Lake.
2) Stay at Sparkling Hill Resort (1 night)
From the winery, drove 30 mins to our first overnight spot, Sparkling Hill. Beautiful resort full of random Swarovski crystals everywhere. Best thing about this place were the spa amenities! 7 saunas!!!! Indoor salt water pool, outdoor infinity pool, hot tub, etc.
2a) Lunch at Revelstoke
Drove a couple hours and stopped at a cute little city called Revelstoke. Ate at Village Idiot Bar & Grill. Vegan friendly! (photos on camera)
3) Fairmont Lake Louise (2 nights)
Arrived at the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Room had an amazing view of the lake.
A couple great restaurants.
Signed up for the sunrise & breakfast canoeing. Met at the docks 5:30am, they handed us our pre-selected breakfast in a bag, which we brought onto our canoe and had breakfast as the sun rose. Was pretty amazing.
3a) Lake Louise Ski Resort
Later that day, we went to Lake Louise Ski Resort, and took the lifts to the top of the mountain.
From there, we could see tiny Lake Louise! Crazy to imagine just few hours earlier, we were there on a canoe.
At the Ski Resort, we ate at Whitehorn Bistro. So good!
3b) Moraine Lake
Took a short drive to Moraine Lake. Just as beautiful as Lake Louise, with 10 Peaks surrounding it.
3c) Peyto Lake
And then another drive to Peyto Lake. Short but steep hike to the viewpoint. Lake was pretty massive
4) Glacier View Inn (1 night)
Drove a couple hours to Glacier View Inn. Was a lot colder here, and you could see the glacier!
4a) Glacier Tour
Did the Glacier Tour. Got on this crazy Ice Explorer, which costs millions of dollars and theres only like 20 of them in the world.
4b) Glacier Skywalk
After the Glacier Tour, they took us to the Skywalk which was a lot scarier than I thought it'd be and took a couple minutes for me to actually walk on the glass bridge.
4c) Athabasca Falls
Short drive away is Athabasca Falls.
4d) Tangle Falls
Just off the side of the highway in Jasper, Alberta
Stopped at Banff for lunch on the way to Calgary
5) Sheraton Suites Eau Claire Calgary (1 night)
Didnt take many photos here as I was feeling sick by this day.
